American Psychiatric Foundation Minority Mental Health Awards
Deadline: November 1, 2003.
The American Psychiatric Foundation (APF) has established a new Minority Mental Health Awards program, designed to ease disparities in quality mental health care for minorities. The award is being supported by a grant from Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. The Minority Mental Health Awards will recognize psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, and mental health programs that have undertaken innovative and supportive efforts to:
- Raise awareness of mental illness in minority communities, the need for early recognition, the availability of treatment and how to access it, and the cultural barriers to treatment.
- Increase access to quality mental health services for minorities
- Improve the quality of care for minorities, particularly those in the public health system or with severe mental illness
Awardees will receive $5,000.

Bob Evans supports programs that strive to provide the skills young people and adults need to become self-sufficient. Programs supported are usually those with an impact on the greatest number of employees and customers in the communities where Bob Evans does business.

Best Buy Children's Foundation supports programs that enhance kids' educational learning experiences through the use of innovative technology. Funding is provided to K-12 technology and youth programs.

CVS is currently accepting proposals for funding in the following areas:
- Improving K-12 education

The Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation
Deadline: None.
The Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation funds innovative programs principally in the areas of childhood/adolescent depression, and ADHD. They primarily focus on clinical intervention and prevention programs, or adapting proven but under-utilized programs to clinical settings. They fund development of pilot programs, treatment manuals, training and dissemination. Generally grant requests for direct service programs will not be considered unless they include a research or program evaluation component, or they represent the application of research findings to a clinical setting. Meet 3 times/year

Grants of up to $35,000 will be awarded to programs that improve the emotional, mental, and physical health of disadvantaged children up to 12 years old.
