Robert Wood Johnson Community Health Leadership Program
Each year, the Robert Wood Johnson Community Health Leadership Program (CHLP) honors ten outstanding individuals who overcome daunting odds to expand access to health care and social services to underserved and isolated populations in communities across the United States. Each is awarded $120,000: $105,000 for program support and $15,000 as a personal stipend. Deadline: September 22, 2003 (Letters of Intent).

American Psychiatric Foundation Minority Mental Health Awards
The American Psychiatric Foundation (APF) has established a new Minority Mental Health Awards program, designed to ease disparities in quality mental health care for minorities. The award is being supported by a grant from Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. The Minority Mental Health Awards will recognize psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, and mental health programs that have undertaken innovative and supportive efforts to:
- Raise awareness of mental illness in minority communities, the need for early recognition, the availability of treatment and how to access it, and the cultural barriers to treatment.
- Increase access to quality mental health services for minorities
- Improve the quality of care for minorities, particularly those in the public health system or with severe mental illness
Awardees will receive $5,000.

Eli Lilly & Co. Helping Move Lives Forward Reintegration Awards
Reintegration Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements made by a mental health team and individuals who are succeeding in their personal battle with mental illness. 1st place: $5,000. See website for nomination guidelines. Deadline: July 25, 2003

Women Helping Others Foundation
WHO Foundation: Women Helping Others®, nationally supports grass-roots charities serving the overlooked needs of women and children. Grants are provided to organizations serving women and/or children in the United States and Puerto Rico. Specific projects and programs addressing health, education and social service needs are our priority. The Foundation recognizes the value of new programs created to respond to changing needs and will consider funding projects of an original or pioneering nature within an existing organization. The majority of grants range from $2,500 to $15,000.

U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime Helping Outreach Programs to Expand
To provide resources to grassroots community-based organizations to improve outreach and services to crime victims. Specifically, grants should be used to support program development, networking, coalition building, and service delivery.
