ADAMH E-Newsletter
One of the strategic results of the ADAMH 2003 Strategic Business Plan addresses the need to supplement its tax-supported budget from private funding sources. In response to that goal, ADAMH has developed a grantseeking program to provide enhanced revenues to create additional behavioral health care services for consumers so that they can experience recovery from mental illness and addictions.

This newsletter will allow us to keep you current on the grantseeking activities at the ADAMH Board, share future opportunities for partnering, and help you in your own efforts to seek grant funding for your organizations. Look for the next issue in April. Following that, we will re-evaluate the schedule for the ADAMH Grant Line E-Newsletter so as best to meet your needs with timely information.

The newsletter will be sent to all provider Executive Directors and any other interested provider staff person. Please contact Elaine Newman at enewman@adamh.co.franklin.oh.us or 222-3726 to make additions to the distribution list.

Grantseeking Tips
Grantsmanship is not just about writing. The first step in grantseeking is Program Planning! Planning programs and seeking grants involves:
  • Organizational planning
  • Organizational management
  • Financial management
  • Defining relationships with other organizations
  • Addressing the organization's relationships within the community
Organizations that provide sufficient time and support to the program planning and proposal writing process can derive many benefits beyond the funds awarded. These can include:
  • improved record-keeping systems
  • enhanced credibility
  • clarity of goals
  • the development of tangible objectives
  • increased knowledge in the program area
  • better program evaluations
  • better financial management
