    Grantseeking Info
Keeping up with the government agencies that determine policies and practices for grant-supported programs isn't easy, but many don't take advantage of what help is available. Federal project officers assigned to grant programs are a great resource and should be contacted for help in strengthening grant applications. According to Benjamin Smith, former director of SAMHSA's Model Programs Dissemination Project, "If you ever have an opportunity for free technical assistance, you maximize that." He counseled to focus on matching your programs to the needs of your community and look for grant programs with priorities matching your program goals.
Here are some lists to refer to for help with grant applications for substance abuse prevention and treatment programs.
