Promotes wellness and health in the community through the reduction of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use (ATOD) by providing research based prevention programs, services and resources. Serving Franklin County since 1958, the council's services include:
  • Youth oriented prevention programs, High School Teen Institute and Middle School Teen Institute.
  • Regionally specific prevention programs for youth; Children Helping In Prevention (CHIP/SAIL), and Hilltop Youth & Family Program.
  • Operation of Central Ohio's most comprehensive ATOD oriented video, print and information resource center. (Prevention Council Resource Library)
  • Mentoring program for Middle-school age youth; peer mentoring with Teen Institute leaders and adults.
  • Topical Presentations and awareness events to groups in the Central Ohio Area through staff speakers.
