The Columbus Urban League promotes the full participation of African Americans and other disadvantaged citizens in the economic and social fabric of our society. Individual dignity and family stability are the League's ultimate goals. Through education, job training and placement, public policy development and family health programs, the League focuses on securing economic and social independence for African Americans and other disadvantaged people.
The Columbus Urban League's Project Survival is designed to address a wide range of risk and protective factors by teaching general personal and social skills in combination with drug resistance skills and normative education during a 9-week grading period during which, three major content areas are covered including:
Project Survival serves students at Beery, Southmoor Middle School, Barrett, Monroe, Champion Middle Schools as well as the Africentric Middle School.
