ADAMH, the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County, recently named Preston Stearns to its volunteer Board of Trustees. Stearns was appointed by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners to a term ending June 30, 2011.
Stearns retired from General Motors in 2002 after over 40 years of service and has since been an active member in the community. He currently serves as a Councilmember for Reynoldsburg City Council were has held this position since 2003; and he also serves as Chairman of the Board for Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Preston Stearns to the ADAMH Board of Trustees,” said ADAMH CEO David Royer. “Mr. Stearns’ experiences will undoubtedly prove invaluable to the Board as we continue to serve the needs of Franklin County citizens.”
ADAMH’s volunteer Board of Trustees is comprised of community leaders and consumers who provide leadership and direction in forming policy and allocating funds for mental health and alcohol and other drug services in Franklin County.
ADAMH is Franklin County’s authority for planning, funding and evaluating mental health, alcohol and drug abuse prevention and treatment services. ADAMH-funded services are provided by a local network of more than 40 not-for-profit providers and are offered on a sliding-fee scale, making them affordable for any County resident, regardless of income.
