Jan 22, 2008

ADAMH, the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County, announced at its January Board meeting its support of Issue 29, the 3.50 mill Replacement Levy for the Franklin County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. The levy will appear on the Franklin County ballot on March 4, 2008. The Franklin County Board of MR/DD has not been on the ballot for seven years.

“The passage of this levy will provide vital services and programs for the increasing number of children and adults in our community seeking care for mental retardation and other developmental disabilities,” said Thomas J. Bonasera, Chair of the ADAMH Board of Trustees.

The Franklin County Board of MR DD has the responsibility to provide services to more than 13,000 children and adults through intervention, employment and placement programs throughout our community. Passage of Issue 29 will provide additional funds to allow for continued delivery of basic quality services to children and adults who have mental retardation or other developmental disabilities
