David A. Royer is a 30-year veteran in the field of behavioral health care. Royer's professional career has been built on caring for people in Ohio's evolving system of publicly funded substance abuse and mental health care. Royer joined ADAMH, the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County as the Chief Executive Officer in May 2000. Before joining the ADAMH Board, Royer was the executive director of the Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services Board of Butler County in southwestern Ohio for 10 years.
Royer has an MS Degree in Health Services from Central Michigan University and a BA in Social Work from Wright State University. Royer is a graduate of Leadership Ohio and has served as an adjunct faculty member with Franklin University in their Master's of Business Administration and Master's of Human Services Management programs. Royer served as the President of the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities from July 2007 to June 2008.
